Uni Life: Update

Well, hello there.

I know it's basically been ages since I last uploaded a post on here, but I've literally been so busy with Uni it's hard to find the time to actually sit down and write.
But enough with the excuses, I am so excited to write this post I don't even know where to start.

Uni is.. incredible! Hard, of course, but amazing. And I wasn't expecting it at all. To be fair, the amount of coursework I have to do is ridiculous, but weirdly enough I don't mind it at all.
The people I met so far are great and I'm loving my flatmates and life in general.
It's so weird how moving to another city and start a new adventure can literally change the way you see things. My life has improved so much in such a small amount of time and I cannot picture myself anywhere else but here.

Sorry if this post isn't so long, there's more to come – do not worry.
I just wanted to pop in and say that I'm alive and I'm enjoying myself and my Uni experience. Get ready for loads of probably boring posts about how great this city is and how much fun I have with my friends.
You've been warned xx

Wanderlust: Rome – The Eternal City

Since today is a gloomy and rather chilly Sunday here in London, I thought it'd be a great idea to escape for a couple of minutes and share with you some of the photos I took the past couple of weeks.
As you could probably tell by the title, this post is dedicated to the incredibly gorgeous Eternal City – or, as we say it in Italian, La Città Eterna.

If you've never been to Rome before then shame on you – it is one of the most beautiful cities I've ever seen. Full of history and art, Rome is also known for its amazing gardens, shops and great food. Excuse me while I go and write about how proud I am about my country for having such majestic cities. I absolutely love art and everything else relate to it so it comes with no surprise that Rome is in my top 5 favourite cities of all times – followed by the one and only Florence of course!

Definitely on my list of cities I'd live in, Rome offers a bunch of different things to do on a daily basis aside from sightseeing. Restaurants, museums, exhibitions – even just walking around in Rome is magical. There is literally history and art everywhere you go and I think that's what makes it so precious and special to me.

So yes, this is a very personal post to me and I really hope you'll enjoy this photos so much you'll book a flight right away ;)

Life update: I am still alive

This is most definitely a long awaited post. Yes, I am indeed still alive and apparently I am back writing on my blog – and it feels good.

I took a break mostly because I wasn't happy with the blog itself: I didn't enjoy writing posts anymore, nor did I like their content or the blog appearance. I felt so uninspired I had to stop, but then I realised that writing is the only thing I've got and that I had the power – and the tools but maybe not the skills, to change whatever it was I didn't like about my blog and start doing what I love the most.
So there you have it, a new slightly better looking blog and a much more inspired Alice ready to jump right back into blogging and ranting about my life.
Sometimes taking a break from things that make you feel upset is good – but coming back and confronting them is even better.

And of course I am not only talking about my blog, there's so much more to it but it's something I'd just rather leave in the past. The important thing is that I decided to come back and keep writing my heart out on this little corner of the internet and I am glad I did.

Here's for not giving up and for a new(ish) start on this blog,
I really hope you'll stick around!

The One Where Alice Turns 20

Can this post be considered a part two? And if you have no clue of what I am talking about you should probably read this post right here.

But yes, as you can probably tell by the title, I turned 20 on Sunday. And what a beautiful weekend that was.

Started my early birthday celebration on Saturday when me and my pal Alice – I promised I am not referring to myself, went out for dinner. Italian of course, what else would you expect from me? Right after dinner we went to the Theatre to see a play, Shakespeare In Love to be more precise. Maybe not all of you are aware of the fact that I am basically obsessed with English Literature and that Shakespeare In Love is by far one of my favourite films of all times, so by this point you can imagine my excitement! The play was amazingly done and most of the lines were taken from the film – therefore I knew them by heart and couldn't help but acting along. Typical Alice.
Afterwards I went to my friend's pub and we waited until midnight with a bunch of people I didn't know that sang happy birthday to me. To be fair, 99% of them were pissed but still, that was nice and really out of tune haha! Needless to say we stayed up all night drinking and laughing and having a hell of a good time and that the actual day of my birthday I was too tired to do anything apart from eating what was left of the cake.

So yes, I am now 20. Technically not a teen anymore but still acting like one – did you have any doubts about it? Because I didn't.
I don't really know how to feel because to be fair nothing's changed, it just feels really weird saying that I am now 20 years old. Almost too weird.
But that's life, and there's nothing I can do about it apart from enjoying it.
What's really surprising is that only a year ago I was miserable but I got to spent my 19th birthday with my closest friends and family and now I am okay and got to celebrate this special day with people I didn't even know they existed up until 8 months ago. Weird how things can change in just 365 days.
I don't know what to expect from this year, but I know I am ready for it :)

Guess who's back? Back again!

Well, guess who's back?

I feel so bad writing this post after almost a month of break but it was much needed and I feel so much better now.
I know I was supposed to do blogmas and I was supposed to write more, share photos, and just be a bit more festive – but I couldn't, and I really hope you understand.

I am making some progress now, slowly starting to feel better and I will surely write more posts.

This one goes out to everyone who's still willing to read my blog and have a laugh.
Happy 2015, I'll see you very soon.
