Surprising My Best Friend

A couple of weeks ago I was able to get a flight home just in time for Easter so that I could spend a little bit of time with my family. The only person that didn't know anything about my brief weekend home was, as you can probably tell my the title, my best friend.
And of course I had to surprise her by making secret plans with her sister and mother and by brining her a sweet breakfast – Nutella croissant, yum??, so that she could eventually forgive me for waking her up at a decent time.

Jokes aside, I loved surprising her and I wanted to share this moment on my blog so that I can treasure it forever, so here's a little tiny vlog about what I did.

I must warn you though, this video contains a weird english accent, me rumbling about drivers, Italian language (seriously though, what did you expect??), an annoying laugh, my gorgeous cat and loads of love.
Hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed surprising her :)

Wanderlust: Venice

One of the things I miss the most about Italy is its beautiful and historical cities. There is just too much art and beauty, it's overwhelming.
And today I thought I'd share photos of a city you should definitely go and visit if you're in Italy: Venice.

To be fair, this is not one of my favourite cities, but you have to admit it's too beautiful to not share some photos.
What made this city so special to me is that last time I was there I got to meet one of my closest friends and we spent the whole day walking around and exploring lanes and alleys. The touristic part of the city is not that big at all and we practically did it all in half a day – and still managed to find the time to go shopping and find a gorgeous book shop, as you can tell by the photos. It was absolutely stunning and looked like heaven to me.

Last time I was there I also managed to make a short and awkward vlog that I'll share here as well so you can see a bit more of what we did.
I know I haven't said much about the city, but sometimes photos are better than words.

Lazy Sunday: the people I love

When I left Italy I was in a really bad place, thought I had no one who cared about me and moving to London seemed the only option.
Looking back now, I can assure you it really was one of the best decision I've ever made. London has opened so many doors for me, and I am sure it'll give me so many more opportunities. But most important, distance made me realise – once again, how lucky I am and how many important people I have in my life.

I guess it's true: you never appreciate something until you lose it – or, in my case, until you move city.
Living far away from the people I love it's not easy, and it never will be, but I am dealing with it and it's getting better because, no matter how far I am, they will always be there for me. And I couldn't be happier about it.

My advice for today?

Go on and live the adventure, but never forget the ones who love you.

Dear Ross

Dear Ross,

this is going to be a short but personal post.

I imagine people have no clue of who you are, which is crazy considering you are such an important person to me
Why am I writing it here? Why not sending you a text or a letter?
Because the world – or at least the people who read this blog, deserves to know how special you are.

Because everyone should have someone like you in their lives, someone they can trust unconditionally. A best-friend like you.

And I've told you so many times I don't believe in forever, but with you it's not forever, with you is always. And it's even better.

Told you it was going to be short, but I wanted to let them know how much you mean to me.
Thank you for being you.

Yours truly.
