Heartbreak Is The National Anthem

Whether you're suffering from a break up from your ex boyfriend or girlfriend or even a friend who is, ehm, not a friend anymore – heartbreaks suck. But, we all go through this at least once in our life (or, if you're like me, more often than not).
I personally hate feeling miserable and powerless, don't like it when people take my happiness away and I found out that shutting them down completely and pretend you feel amazing around them actually has pros!
The problem is, how to achieve that? Well, I'm sure 99% of the population is pretty damn great at lying, you just have to fake 'til you make it, aye?

1. Comfort Food

Eat loads of chocolate! It is scientifically proved that it will improve your mood so where's the problem? And, if you're not a fan of chocolate, feel free to snack on something else. Comfort food helps you out more than you think.

2. Music

Put on your favourite songs and dance like nobody's watching! Nothing depressing or sad, though, we'll need that later.

3. Run

I recently found out that creating an extremely emotional playlist with all the songs that remind me of certain people and running are a very dangerous mix – in a good way! All those emotions and disappointments give me the boost I need to run long distances.

4. Shopping

I can always count on a nice new pair of boots or a gorgeous high waisted skirt to cheer me up. Shopping is always a good idea!

5. Snap Out Of It

It gets to a point where you just have to let it go. They left, though shite – it's still gonna be their bloody loss. Put on a smile and those nice new clothes you just bought, go out and enjoy yourself: life is too short to cry over boys who don't care.

So yes, I'm still feeling down and I still feel sad at times, but it gets better. And, on the plus side, I'm losing weight and I have a pretty great excuse to go and buy more clothes.
